Let's Try Something Different

Right, here we go again.
Well nobody new to the site is going to know this about me, so a little history I suppose.
Many moons ago, when the Internet was young and Filthy Henry a dream in the eye of my mind, I used to write a blog on a now defunct website. I would post regularly with the stream of conciousness that I felt sure was worth spewing online.
After a while the blog became a place for me to discuss a new hobby I had started: Stand-up Comedy. I would post about upcoming gigs or talk about how gigs had gone. It was intended to be a platform to grow my comedy line-up on, but alas it never worked out like that.
After a while I created a second blog site, intended as a 'writer only' style blog. Both sites linked together with a little clever toggle showing only writing entries on one and everything on the other (I am all about lazy automation in my life). But again that site didn't really "do" anything for me. I didn't see people reading the books or leaving comments about them.
Mostly because I had coded those sites myself - and clearly keeping up on the SEO side of things is a full time job.
I shut both sites down and moved over to this site with a host company - save me the technical work. But for the past year this site has been nothing more than a place to list out the books. I've had a few people leave comments about the books and podcast, which is great, but I need to start doing that age old thing all websites need.
I need to drive traffic.
So as 2025 winds down and 2026 is the idea in front I'm going to try and get back into the blogging mindset. Talking about projects I am working on, the trials and tribulations of writing as a hobby, dealing with the highs and lows of the whole hobby.
Basically a glimpse into the mind of the mad man behind the fairy detective.
But I will hopefully try something a little different as well - more short stories.
While a lot of the Case Files for Filthy Henry have become podcast episodes, I have other shorts that I would love to share with the world. And what better way than here, so folk can read them and if they like it they can move into the books.
Anyway...let's see how long this will last.
